Sometimes when I changes the kind of render any fibers disappear, for example in render "line" all fibers are seen, but I changes to render "tube" any fibers disappear.

any comments?

Hi,

First, try turning off "Object Annotations" option in "Overview->Settings". That could eliminate a potentail display bug.

If that does not work, I can only wild-guess that maybe you're displaying too many tracks at the same time? Do you have a decent graphics card on your system? How about try display just a small track bundle and see if that works?

Best,

Hello,

I have seen this too and chalked it up to video capabilities of our graphics device. Usually I can get them to display in tube mode by using the spline_filter tool on them.

JFYI, spline_filter can reduce the number of line segments in a track significantly (more than half in common cases) while losing none/little spatial resolution on the track. Thus, it will also reduce the render load to the same amount. It is recommanded to use it all the time.

Hi, foremost thanks for their answer.

about the question of Ruopeng, I only display about 45 tracks, and my graphics card is NVIDIA Geforce 9400M (I consider it decent). also I tried turning off "Object Annotations" and the problem continue.

triplet, What is the spline_filter tool? How I can use the spline_filter tool?

Hi, the spline_filter tool is part of the Diffusion Toolkit package. It is located at different places depending on which computer platform you are on. We use mac in our lab and it is located in

/Applications/DiffusionToolkit.app/Contents/MacOS/spline_filter

It can really help to visualize large data sets. In fact, we would not be able to open up some of our streamline data files without it.
