Toggling multiple ROIs

Say I have 3 different ROIs drawn (on three adjacent slices) of a spinal cord. If I create a new track group for each one, I get the track count for each group from inferior to superior to be 271, 291, and 301, respectively. Now, if in the original track group "Track 1" I toggle on the first ROI only, the track count for "Track 1" is 271 (and what I would expect). However, if I toggle all three ROIs on, the track count still remains at 271.

Am I interpretting this function wrong? Does toggling on multiple track groups not give you a total of all tracks passing through all ROIs combined (as you could get if you drew one large ROI around the target area), but rather does it give the total number of the tracks that pass through ALL toggled ROIs at once? I hope that question is clear.

Additional, out of curiousity moreso:

Is there any difference between toggling on a single ROI (let's say only on "ROI 1") in "Track 1"  vs. creating a new track group from that ROI? (In terms of the acquiring stats and mean values such as trackcount and FA.)

Thank you

Hi,

ROI operation is "AND" by default, not "OR". So yes, you get the tracks that passed through every ROI at the same time.

As to your second question, as long as there is no other filters applied, they produce the same tracks and should have the same stats, etc.

Thank you for the response. Is there an option to make this "OR"? I cannot find where one might be able to alter this operation, if that is possible.

Thanks

Yes, look in ROI filters section in Track Property Panel, there is option to change Operator.
